So as stated within this article, we are always looking to improve things, and based on some feedback we tweaked the release links accordingly. No longer will you see the Continuous Delivery releases grouped into one, instead each release has its own set of pages, in addition to the LTS releases. Article updated to reflect this 25th August 2025.
Some of you may have noticed that we recently made some (hopefully welcome) changes to the Documentation website. The goal of these changes were to make the information easier to navigate as well as creating a consistent ToC structure across the various platforms. These changes were made to the 8.7.0 documentation and all future releases will follow this new structure.
You can follow along by opening this page : https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/flashsystem-9×00/9.1.0
In the ToC section you can select from any of the Long-term Support (LTS) or Continuous Delivery (CD) releases as shown here. Hopefully, since the page structure has been standardised, when you switch between release it will find the same page!
Under the filter box is the new structure.

Changes to the documentation
A quick summary table of the updates that were made in that release – helpful to find new features and functions details for that release.
Software feature guide
Rather than the old structure that hid bits of information in planning, managing, configuring (and not being able to easily guess which one you needed!) all the relevant information for the features are provided in one place.
For example, expanding out the feature guide section you can find some high level topics, for example, what’s new in this release, with the real meat being under the “Concepts” and “CLI” sections !

Platform Details
For the chosen product range, 5000, 7000, 9000, SVC etc, the next sections give hardware specific details for your chosen platform. In this example we have selected the FlashSystem 9500, and I am drawing your attention to a very useful page that lists any restrictions, in terms of features and functions that may exist on your chosen platform. If you are lucky enough to have a 9500, then you will see the message in the second image here, but for example, with a 5045 you can see where it has limits (3rd image)

Yes the PDF documents are back. You can even download the whole thing and have a searchable PDX structure locally…
Hopefully these are welcome updates and make it easier to navigate and find the information you are looking for. We are always keen for feedback, so add a comment below, positive or negative – constructive criticism is always welcome!
Other Useful Links
We try to keep the format of the URLs the same, where possible, so if you are looking for a different release, you *should* be able to just edit the URL as applicable…
